Stand Up Comedy is my passion and I hope that visitors to the Comedy Bunker always come away with some sense of that.

Long before I started the Comedy Bunker, I spent much of my time visiting other comedy clubs. Like any comedy fan, I had my favourite performers but one thing I never understood was why ‘20 minutes’ was the standard length of a comedian’s set. That is still the case at most venues across the UK today. One of the first things I wanted to do was offer experienced performers the opportunity to stretch themselves. It’s what I wanted to see and - I soon found - it was also what many comedians wanted to do. The Comedy Bunker soon developed a reputation as a headliners club and I think it’s fair to say that this image has survived the test of time.

The list of talent that has graced our stage includes Graham Norton, Russell Brand, Ed Byrne, Harry Hill, Jimmy Carr, Sean Lock, Richard Blackwood, Al Murray, Jo Brand, Omid Djalili and Alan Carr. However, what our regular visitors know is that it’s nearly always the ‘regular’ shows - the ones showcasing headline comedians who are not necessarily household names - that provide the ingredients for the most exciting and memorable evenings.

As a promoter, my booking policy is very egocentric. I only invite comedians to the Comedy Bunker that I want to watch.

Everything is set up to allow the performer to give the best show possible. For example, heckling is not encouraged, we do not accept bookings from large groups (including stags, hens or office parties) and the bar inside the showroom does not serve whilst the performance is in progress.

The Comedy Bunker has an over 16’s policy. 16 to 18 year old guests are welcome with pre-arrangement. However, the front tables are reserved for guests aged over 18 only,

This year is our biggest season to date. We have amazing comedians appearing at every single show - some returning to a venue that has become familiar to them; others making their debut with us. However, whether the names and faces are familiar to you or not, every show will feature leading performers from the UK or overseas who have distinguished themselves within the comedy industry. Come along to any show and you will see some of the funniest people in the world performing their own unique material. Every show is different. The only recurring features are our dedication to presenting an experience that is defined by quality and originality.
